Database initialization links
While spreadsheets are a convenient place to store small quantities of ad-hoc data,
some circumstances require the scalability, robustness and security of a modern
database manager. With DPL Enterprise, you can initialize nodes in your model with
data from a database.
Multiple expert aggregation
In the practice of decision analysis, experts are normally consulted when probabilities
need to be assessed. When more than one expert is available, the analyst is often faced
with combining their differing opinions. DPL Enterprise provides a practical utility
for producing an aggregate assessment.
Running Excel macros from DPL
Most spreadsheets models are built in such a way that the outputs are updated as part
of a normal Excel recalculation. However, some models include calculations that
require the use of a macro for updating. DPL Enterprise allows you to run an Excel
macro in lieu of the Excel Calculate command normally sent at the end of each path
through the tree.
Automation API
DPL Enterprise includes an application programming interface (API) for controlling
DPL from other programs. The DPL API can be used from Excel Visual Basic for
Applications (VBA), the Microsoft .NET languages, or any other client environment
that supports Automation.
The DPL Enterprise single-user license covers one analyst or developer. For DPL
Enterprise-based applications that will be distributed or made available on a
server, per-seat or per server licensing is available.
